Ticketbastard 2.0
Not happy with having a monopoly on selling overpriced tickets to hapless Irish punters for everything from shodilly arranged music festivals, regular gigs in toilet venues, poncey plays and embarassingly bad sports matches, Ticketmaster.ie, despite their hollow protests of innocence, have apparently now moved into downright illegal touting.
The biggest, most immoral bunch of cunts ever to have been shat into Irish society have been accused of doing exactly what they criticised punters of doing only a year ago – namely reselling tickets online for vastly exageratted prices.
But it’s ok. They’re only doing it to ‘protect the consumer’ from nasty men in leather jackets ripping them off on street corners.
I honestly don’t know how they can even try and defend themselves. Maybe I’m some type of idiot. Surely if you buy a website like GetMeIn.com or Need A Ticket.ie then serious questions have to be asked about the legality of it all.
“Ticketmaster, in purchasing Get Me In!, is trying to regulate this situation so that people have somewhere to go if they want to put genuine tickets up for resale or purchase genuine tickets,” a spokesman said. It would not be allocating any tickets from its system to the secondary resale market.
“Ticketmaster rejects any suggestion that it is engaging in a form of touting by being involved in this business. It is endeavouring to regulate or police this growing market.”
Just to let you know tickets for the upcoming Ireland v Wales egg chasing festival in Croke Park are on sale on GetMeIn.com for €630 quid. Bruce Springsteen tickets wil lset you back a mere €450 quid.
Tickets to see Prince will still only cost you €19.99. (Sorry)
What on earth would we do without Ticketmaster to save us from these leeches?
It will be interesting to note how quickly tickets for big events become available on these sites. I’ve never even considered using them because i’m not a mug with more money than sense, but plenty of people obviously are.
Whats to stop Ticketmaster deliberately holding back tickets for events only to pass them directly on to NeedATicket or GetMeIn and make an absolute packet on the ‘resale’ price? The fact that they say they won’t?
Basically, Ticketmaster, if you own the company that’s selling tickets for over 10 times the original price on your own rip off site, then you are the tout.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go and sit in a corner somewhere while my mind quietly boggles.

Self regulation in any industry is a fucking joke/con………
Saw that at the weekend – and thought ’seriously?’.
They’ve no shame.
nuts
I must agree. Just tried to buy Metallica tickets for the 28 Feb in Sheffield-watched the date time and tried to book early. Not a chance. Tickets were not on sale when Ticketmaster site said they would be. Then they have the nerve to have a link to a “get me in” pop up with sales that break their own rules. Inflated prices before the tickets have even went on sale? It is time to dump these greedy, hypocritical bastards. Complete wank. I also feel their crass greed is now shared by the bands who use them. I’m chucking my Metallica collection and I’ve been a fan since the early eighties.
