There were other monsters. They appeared on the other flavours, I think you could only get them in a multipack in this country, not in newsagents. There was a weird blue one with floppy ears and loads of arms on salt and vinegar and a pink one that was on roast beef flavoured. I’m sure there was a yellow one too but i don’t know what flavour… probably cheese.
They’re really english flavours so they didn’t catch on over here when this was the land of “cheese and onion” Regular Monster Munch were exotic enough.
Crazy english with their roast beef crisps and fizzy blackcurrant Vimto.
I wasn’t at all jealous…

The Cyclops was misleadingly described as “No 1: The Cyclops” - implying that he was but the first in an ever-expanding Monster series. I waited in vain for No. 2 (eating 3,000 packs on Monster Munch as I did so). No joy.

If memory serves me correctly, the Cyclops was also tearing a phone book in half, he was fucking horrific. Definitely get him back.

Oh and return Hot Lips to their full glory as Face’s Hot Lips complete with smiling Dirk Benedict on the pack.
