What a load of me bollix.
Why not just ban the pub altogether? If I stagger out the door of a pub right into some haystack of a Garda, he’s now able to demand that I pay him €100 on the spot or face prosecution. And that’s without me being ‘disorderly’, merely ‘drunk’.
I think the best way to avoid this is to get pissed and then drive home. That way you won’t get stung by this ridiculous law.

Won’t affect the smelly (but very polite) man in Spar on Thomas St. who was buying 14 cans of Dutch Gold at lunch time today. He won’t be leaving the house I’d wager.
